cooking and crafting

Tonight for dinner I decided to make some chicken and dumplings (the snow/rain called for some comfort food).. I followed my mothers directions completely yet it didn't turn out like hers at all. My husband is really sweet and said he loved it, which I think he really did, but I was totally disappointed in it. Hopefully one day I can make it just like my mom..

On a completely unrelated note, I have been searching for cute iPad cases to make and I think I have found one. Bobber does an excellent job in this tutorial and I think I may give it a try soon:) I'll let you know how that goes for me.

And a side note related to the note above, I am completely addicted to crafting. Recently my new obsession has been chalkboard paint. I am running out of things to put it on... So far it is on some shelves, bottles in my cabinet and many other random places. Martha Stewart crafts makes great paints and it can be used on ANYTHING... And I mean it, absolutely anything. It is amazing.

My crafting obsession has led to an obsession in pinterest. Now, for those of you who don't know what it is, well it is just the best thing in the world. It is a virtual pinboard where you can see what other people like and make your own boards. Follow me here :) I promise you'll love the website. The only downfall is that you have to request an invite and then wait for it, luckily it is only like a week wait and totally worth it. Pinterest is one of those websites that is completely addicting. I have found so many good recipes on there and also cool things to make. I have also planned out all the clothes I want to buy and everything I want for my future babies... I even used it to help me plan my wedding. Yeah, no one ever needs to hire a wedding planner now. Pinterest is way cheaper and more awesome!

And finally, I am starting a goal for myself. I want to write on here at least once a day... This seems like a lot, but sometimes I just gotta write about it all. :) And ya know, some day my kids may need to learn how to be a wife, and what better way then through their mom's blog right?
