my bridal shower.

I just got my bridal shower and wedding pictures back from my sister.. My sisters, Megan and Joy, planned the bridal shower all themselves and it was a huge success. :) Take a look!

First off, there was a lemonade bar. My colors were Tiffany Blue and Coral. So, they used mason jars and tied blue ribbon around the tops. Instead of just plain ice cubes we did fruit cubes....
The recipe is simple, but here it is: Mash up fruit of your choice (we used raspberries, strawberries and blueberries). Then add some sugar to taste and spoon it into ice cube molds. We used heart shaped ones to make it more fun. Here's a picture
Isn't it cute?

Next, the favors were ADORABLE!!! They bought wine glasses (at dollar tree) and put a blue and white loofah in it (also from dollar tree). Behind the loofah they put a bottle of my favorite Bath and Body Works body wash, Carried Away. If you have not used that one, you MUST! Then for the cherry on top, they wrapped a Moonstruck chocolate to look like a cherry. Check it out:
PS Moonstruck is the best chocolate ever and it is local to Portland.

Then, my awesome sister made my cupcakes. We highly recommend the Duff brand Zebra cake... So far I've found it at Michael's, Target, and Walmart. Topped with some homemade frosting and cute little sprinkles they were delicious :)

Then there was my favorite gift. Everyone gives diaper cakes at baby showers, so I got a towel cake from my sister Megan. Plus, the baking dish on the bottom is so adorable I can't even explain it. I haven't used it yet, but I am planning on soon.

So basically, my sisters are amazing and I loved my bridal shower.

Really DMV?

So, seeing as I am recently married and all, I had to go to the DMV to get a new license. I was really excited for this seeing as its been five years since I got my license and I look NOTHING like my old picture.

First off, I hate going to the DMV. They make you sit and wait forever in really uncomfortable chairs.... Then there is the stupid people who bring their kids with them who start screaming because they are bored. I feel ya kids, I really do because honestly I want to be screaming with you.

Secondly, it usually smells bad and is too warm or too cold.

Third, they charge you sooooo much for everything. $27 for a replacement license? It's a piece of plastic. Completely ridiculous.

Finally, no one ever looks good in their DMV picture. I tried so hard today. I mean I did my hair, my make up was great, and I even dressed good. I did absolutely everything possible to look good for my picture. And what happens? They zoom in so much on my face that I look fat... FAT! This is my picture that is going to be looked at for the next few years and I look fat. I guess the plus side of this is that I can tell people I lost a lot of weight... NOT! I am not looking forward to getting my actual license in the mail.

At least for everything else I have to change my name on I don't have to take anymore pictures:(

Hey

So my name is Alana. I live in Keizer, OR with my amazing husband, Richard. We just got married two weeks ago and basically are the coolest couple ever. Haha. Um, we live with a roommate and our cat, Kitty. I really wanted her name to be Crookshank but that didn't work out. I'm finishing up school while being the perfect housewife. Richard is trying to start up a career in YouTube while he manages a band and also runs our vending machines. I've taken up a love of being crafty, like Martha Stewart status. Mostly I am going to end up writing about becoming the perfect housewife, starting a family, and finishing school. I'm sure there will be plenty of fun and crazy things that come from that....
